Louisville Metro Government, Parks and Recreation- Full Time

Urban Agriculture Program Coordinator

- Reports directly to the Executive Director of Louisville Parks and Recreation

- Lead community food production initiatives through collaboration with local partners, supporting the development of urban agriculture and food access programs.

- Oversee partnerships with organizations such as the Soil and Water Conservation District, Cooperative Extension Office, and others, to advance agriculture-related initiatives within Parks and Recreation.

- Actively developing participation guidelines for community gardens within Parks and Recreation spaces, specifically community centers.

- Assess and inventory current urban agriculture assets, identifying active gardens and those with growth potential for future community projects within our Parks system.

- Build relationships with nonprofits and external partners to help deliver educational programming in environmental and food systems education.

- Promote partner programs and resources through communication channels, including social media and community outreach, to raise awareness of food access opportunities.

- Explore opportunities for edible landscapes within Parks and Recreation, identifying spaces for potential orchard planting, pollinator planting, and beekeeping programs. This work includes reviewing policy and ordinance barriers related to ideally smooth future implementation.

- Identify needed materials and program sponsors for urban agriculture initiatives, ensuring proper resources for successful projects.

- Monitor and report on metrics and community feedback to assess program success and areas for growth, ensuring continuous improvement in urban agriculture efforts.

Louisville Metro Government, Office of the Mayor - Full Time

Communications Strategist

- Managed social media to promote the Mayor and Metro Government's initiatives.

- Developed content for social media platforms, including graphics, videos, and photos.

- Collaborated with other agencies and departments within Louisville Metro Government, especially Economic Development, to ensure the Mayor supported and highlighted their updates and storytelling.

- Staffed the Mayor at events, press conferences, and interviews to capture content.
